The steps we take

Here are the steps our expert recruiters use to find the right fit for your company, Australia wide:

Step 1:

Diligent analysis and correct planning of each role we are working to fill:

This includes a rigorous client familiarisation process where we ensure we understand the commercial challenges you are facing and how this impacts on your future people resourcing needs. The outcome of this step is preparation of a draft assignment specification for you to review and amend prior to finalisation. 

This becomes our agreed road map for finding qualified candidates. We also provide an agreed assignment timetable based on normal advertising cycles and interview timeframes. We can offer an accelerated service for business critical appointments.

Step 2:

Advertised Selection:

We will devise the most appropriate advertising strategy to suit the role you are trying to fill. Today, this is largely via web based career sites or professional networking sites –many of which offer the opportunity to advertise job opportunities to a small select group of potentially interested people. On occasion a non-digital approach is deemed best such as regional and/or local newspapers or professional association magazines.

Advertised Search:

Search strategies are employed in conjunction with agreed advertising in order to improve the depth and quality of candidates and this can include individuals referred by the client without direct client involvement. 

Data Base:

We maintain an extensive data base of potential candidates and may employ this to identify individuals with high potential for your role. Note: We respect the privacy of candidate information and only keep information that the candidate has given us permission to retain and use. We will always obtain candidate approval to refer their CV to a client if they have not directly applied for a role.

Step 3:

Selection and Interview Methods

Moving Forward tailors our interview process and questions to your specific role. The interview process invariably includes both behavioural and technical elements to ensure we cover both the can do and will do elements essential for success in the role. 

This process may include jointly designed competency testing around specific or general aptitude requirements and can include personality profiling if required. The purpose of this upfront testing is not to replace detailed psychometric testing which we recommend be performed by an impartial third party skilled in the complexity of this science but rather to ensure basic technical or behavioural competencies are present in each candidate interviewed. Some interview processes might also include candidates making presentations or completing assignments and we will discuss with you where this is appropriate.

At the conclusion of this process we will provide interview notes in an agreed format based on your needs and an original copy of the candidates CV and where appropriate covering letter.

Note during this period we manage all candidate communication relating to the interview process unless otherwise requested by the client.

Step 4:

Reference Checks and Offer of Appointment:

Our reference check process is comprehensive and objective. We tailor the questions we ask referees around the key requirements of the role and key personal attributes being sought and will provide you with a written copy of the questions and answers provided. This can be combined with any independent checking you may wish to do and the answers can be cross checked to ensure consistency.

The Offer of Appointment is a critical step to a successful outcome. We consult closely with you in terms of candidate expectations and in composing a package that will have the best chance of being mutually agreeable and beneficial to both parties.

Step 5:

Post Appointment:

We have a vested interest to ensuring candidates we place meet your needs and are happy with their choice in accepting the role. We do this by staying in regular contact and obtaining objective feedback from both parties on an ongoing basis. This is part of our commitment to you as part of your talent acquisition team.
